Privacy Policy

Tukikon Oy (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “our”) is an educational institution which provides Occupational Safety Courses (licensed by the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety) and Fire Safety Courses (licensed by the Finnish National Rescue Association) across Finland.

We are committed to protecting your private data as we deem your privacy our main priority. To do that, we follow specific procedures to handle your data very responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

This privacy policy describes what information we collect when you visit our website, interact with our ads and social media pages, and when you sign up for our courses and participate in them, how we use that information, and how you can access your information to have a full control over it.

This version of the policy is effective as of February 6, 2020.

"Personal information" is the information that you may share with us when you sign up for our courses and/or fill in the paper registration form given to you at the beginning of courses.

This information includes:
- name;
- email address;
- phone number;
- living address;
- ID number;
- company’s or organization’s name and address in case it pays for the courses.

"Sensitive personal information" is information that meets the "personal information" criteria and also reveals:
- gender;
- age;
- language preferences;
- IP-address and location;
- operating system and browser you are using while visiting our website;
- visiting time and visits history;
- referring website;
- your behavior on our website.

Sensitive personal information is obtained from third-party services that we use in our day-to-day operations. More details are available under “How we collect information” section.

We collect information in two ways:

1) You share your information directly with us by enrolling in our courses.

You provide your personal information to us directly through signing up for our courses on our website / by email / by phone and through filling in the paper form given to you at the beginning of the courses. Also, according to rules of the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association, you are expected to provide your personal information when filling in exam forms.

2) Your information is provided to us by third parties when you interact with our website and / or our ads and / or our social media pages that we manage on trusted platforms.

We collect your information via trusted third-party services to provide and improve our services. Such third-party services include Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Ads and Instagram. All these services comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your information may be collected only when you in any way interact with our website and / or our ads and / or our social media pages.

We store most of the information you provide to us digitally. This information includes both “Personal Information” and “Sensitive Personal Information” described above. We use only trusted cloud-based services to store and manage your information. These services include Trello, Google and Microsoft cloud products. In case you sing up for our courses by phone, we may use secure and encrypted messengers such as Telegram and WhatsApp to pass your information through so that it is added to our main system (Trello) where we manage all our courses and participants.
 
We also store your information on paper (sign-up forms given to you at the beginning of our courses and exam forms given to you at the end of our courses). According to rules of the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association, we have to store this information for at least three months after you pass the courses. The forms are stored securely so that no one except our employees and freelancers who signed our internal non-disclosure agreement can get access to the forms. After the 3-month period ends we might fully destroy the forms making sure your information is completely erased.

We share and disclose your information required to issue the Occupational Safety Card (Työturvallisuuskortti) and / or the Fire Safety Card (Tulityökortti). The information is shared only with the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association.

The information which we share with the aforementioned organizations includes:
- your name;
- your ID number and/or your date of birth;
- your test results.

Here are some of the ways we may use the personal information you provide us:

-To allow you to register for our courses and to process your registration with the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association;
- To communicate with you about our courses and related issues;
- To deliver you the cards you obtain after passing the courses;
- To evaluate the quality of our services and the effectiveness of our marketing;
- To transfer information to the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association as described in this policy or to satisfy our legal, regulatory, compliance, or auditing requirements;
- To charge you any fees and provide you with a receipt or resolve billing and / or payment issues.

At any time, you may ask us to delete all your personal information we store on platforms listed in “How we store information” section. Following your ask, we shall immediately erase all your personal information. However, we are not able to erase your information we store on paper (sign-up forms and exam forms) within three months after you complete our courses as this policy is governed by the Finnish Center for Occupational Safety and the Finnish National Rescue Association.
